Functional for now

PRETTY it certainly ian’t, But [Bagnall Lock] is functional for now. So long as the temporary repair does not become permanent.  I guess for those caught in a stoppage they would prefer a solution rather than a long wait, writes Kevin McNiff.

As an expedient to restore navigation, one can’t really criticise the job. [Bagnall Lock.] What’s the alternative? Close until further notice like the Leicester Section. Traffic off the Trent would be well and truly stuffed.

Hopefully plans are in hand for a proper job.
