IT WAS TWO YEARS AGO that Tim Fish set his former friend's cruiser alight.
And he has been jailed after pleading guilty to arson while being reckless as to whether life was endangered, Janet Friend reports.
Caught on CCTV
Tim Fish was caught on CCTV, it showing him approaching the cruiser moored on Duke's Cut on the Oxford Canal. Then moments later there was an explosion with fire seen throughout the boat, that Fish had walked towards.
Fish had poured an obviously explosive liquid from a can onto the boat, that belonged to Max Lamb, who was inside the boat at the time, it was told by the prosecution in Oxford Crown Court.
Max Lamb was able to put out the flames with fire extinguishers, that were inside the boat.
The prosecution told the court the former friends had fallen out two years earlier,
Jailed
Fish, of no fixed address, was jailed for seven years and three months after pleading guilty to arson while being reckless as to whether life was endangered.
He was also handed a 10 years restraining order.
