THERE IS MORE GOOD NEWS with more waterways recovering from low water.

Kennet & Avon Canal
On the Kennet & Avon Canal concerning the low pound between Little Bedwyn Lock 67 and Oakhill Down Lock 68.
The pound has now recovered overnight and has been reopened for navigation.
Sheffield & Tinsley Canal
The levels of water along Tinsley Flight on the Sheffield & Tinsley Canal have almost recovered to a navigable level.
So due to this, the trust is taking bookings for next Tuesday the 4th of August onwards. Contact the customer service team on 0303 040 4040 to make a booking.
Walsall Canal
Following the temporary closure due to low water levels, the water levels at Ryders Green Lock Flight on the Walsall Canal have now recovered sufficiently to allow navigation to resume under restricted operating hours.
From today, Friday 31st July, the lock flight will be open between 10:00 and 13:00, with the last passage permitted at 12:00. To help the trust monitor water levels and manage the flight effectively, it would appreciate boaters contacting it if they are passing and encounter any issues during their journey. Montgomery Canal
The water level at Welshpool Lock on the Montgomery Canal have returned to operational levels.
Welshpool Lock is now unlocked and navigation possible. However Belan and Pool Quay Locks will remain locked and sealed to maintain the filling of pounds until further notice, with passage supported by local teams as required.
Leeds & Liverpool Canal
The Rufford Branch of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal that was closed through lack of water is no longer closed.
It was German's Lock 5 that was the cause, but there is now restricted use available for use the lock between 9:00am and 2:00pm daily. With the lock being padlocked out of these hours.

There is no doubt that the teams at Canal & River Trust are doing their best to keep navigations open, even against the complete lack of rainfall.
