Usless coir rolls

I can but agree with T Lang about the uselessness of coir rolls fastened to canal banks, and concur that not only do they not stable banks, but do the opposite, and are pointless is providing habitats for insects as is claimed.

What's the point of coir rolls?

I HAVE just finished a three weeks cruise on my narrowboat that included the Oxford Canal, and just cannot understand the need for all those coir rolls that are being installed on the towpath side of the canal, writes T Lang.
