REGARDING the report about the sunken boat at Bridge 55. [Trent & Mersey Canal] We also passed it on the 21st May. I reported it to CaRT as we passed through Fradley on the 23rd May and was told they already knew about it, writes Glenis Summers.

During the weeks it was there, (and it was re-floated a lot earlier than the 5th September by the way) the owner littered up the towpath making it a complete eyesore. He and a friend of his (I assume) have blighted what was a previously pleasant stopping place. I mention the assumed friend as another boat has been in continuous occupation with him. These very boats were usually to be found doing the same thing on the Coventry Canal in the Huddlesford Junction area.

Turn a blind eye

I assume they must have been moved on and this is their new 'resting' place. I say that because they were still in the same spot when we passed again on 13th September. Do you think it likely that CaRT would turn a blind eye to any of us doing the same thing?

This sort of behaviour annoys everyone especially bona fide continuous cruisers who often get the flack when this behaviour is witnessed. Come on CaRT, one rule for everyone.
