IT WAS EARLY THIS MONTH that the Bosley Flight was reopened after a long closure.
But it is closed again, Keith Gudgin reports.
Numerous problems
This flight on the Macclesfield Canal has had numerous problems over the past few years, it being closed time after time.
The stoppage this time is due to allow the trust to carry out urgent repairs to a leak on the Lock 7 tail gate.
During yesterday, Thursday, boats using the flight had been found to be costing too much water and the loss of water is not sustainable.
Engineers will be on site today to carry out an inspection, after which the local team will install stop planks and drain the affected lock to enable the necessary repairs to be completed.

Starts early next week
The site works will take place early next week.
The closures of the flight started on the 13th July, with lack of water affecting both the Bosley and Marple flights intermittently through the many weeks.
