IT WAS A BOATER WHO TELLS US that the rail bridge at Keadby off the tidal Trent had been, and is still closed.
Yet no notice whatsoever from Canal & River Trust that the bridge is closed, blocking the way to and from the tidal river.
Simon Lord contacted Network Rail to be told that the trust had been informed of the closures, but has not published them, including the recent one from Network Rail telling that the bridge is closed until Friday.
Boater stuck
With boaters stuck behind the closed bridge on both sides, and Simon telling—'Why am I being told this bridge is now closed till Friday? [By Network Rail]. I’ve not seen a notification about this. [From Canal & River Trust]. It’s a joke'.
The reason of its closures is that it does not operate during high temperature, and there have been many high temperatures during the past weeks.
