THE re-opening of the Boiler House Museum at Foxton Locks it is hoped will increase visitors to the locks this year.

The museum was closed for refurbishment last year that caused a dramatic drop in visitors to the locks, but now being open for the coming Easter it is hoped that visitor numbers will increase, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Gone 'digital'

The museum has gone 'digital', at a cost of £200,000 which, though it has upset the traditionalists, is expected will encourage school parties and the like after its closure.

It has new interactive features together with a downloadable app that can be accessed at home, which guides visitors round the museum as well as the locks and the site of the inclined plane.

An Easter Extravaganza on March 26th, 27th and 28th has been planned, with a selection of stalls along with trade boats and games including an Easter Egg Trail.
