ST. PANCRAS Lock, on the Grand Union Canal was closed yesterday and the area cordoned off after the discovery of a body in the waterway.

The body of a man was discovered during the morning under a moored narrowboat by the owner near the lock Roger Fox tells us.

Suspicious

As this was the area in which the body of a murdered man was discovered, the police closed the area down with around a dozen officers involved, treating the death as suspicious, but later told that it was not suspicious but 'unexplained'. (Picture by permission of The Guardian.)

At the time a tent was erected by the narrowboat and emergency personnel attended in an inflatable dingy, but now all has been cleared away and the lock re-opened.
