Stolen silver found in Ashby Canal

INSTEAD of the odd windless and rubbish, workmen dredging the Ashby Canal were amazed to dredge up two silver chalices and a silver plate.

Chesterfield Canal champion dies

KEITH AYLING died on the morning of Wednesday 30th March. This was a year to the day since he stepped down from being the Chairman of the Chesterfield Canal Trust. He became a Vice-President and remained very active.
