This is now closed, but access will be allowed with an assisted passage at 9am every day, but no access t any other time.
Kennet & Avon Canal
There are highway works taking place around Bath Tunnel by contractor Volker Highways.
While excavating the road bridge surface over the tunnel, stones have been dislodged and damaged under the tunnel arch over the canal making the bridge unsafe to canal users.
For safety reasons and until a structural engineer can make a detailed assessment of the structure the tunnel, both navigation and the towpath will remain closed.
Rochdale Canal open
The Rochdale Canal that was closed due to lack of water between locks 5 and 8 was reopened this morning.
These pounds had suffered lack of water since the 29th September.
Montgomery Canal open
The Montgomery Canal is now navigable between Pool Quay Lock and Belan Locks, with water having returned to its level for navigations.
The pounds had been closed since 1st July.
