Two days or two weeks?

OUR Keith Gudgin is at present moored on the two days moorings on the Grand Union Canal, with an enforcement officer leaving him in a quandary, and writes:

I'm moored up at the visitor moorings next to the water point below Soulbury Locks on the Grand Union. There is a two day mooring sign here.

Sign was wrong

I saw the boat checker, if that's what they call them, come past on his bike taking numbers and mentioned that it appeared some boats had been here for more than two days. He said they could stay for 14 days, I said the sign stated two days and he retorted that the sign was wrong. I said "I give up,", he said "give up then!"

So no, I do not believe they are getting boater friendly.

Sloppy state of affairs

So do I do as the signs say or can we take notice of the man on his bike. It seems a pretty sloppy state of affairs to me if the signs say two days then it's two days not two weeks as some appear to be doing here and apparently with the enforcement team's blessing.

Multiple standards in public office again I see.
