CROXTON LANE BRIDGE over the Trent & Mersey Canal was closed today it having to repaired.
This is after being damaged by a vehicle, Janet Friend reports.
It was damaged in 2024 by both a Seat Ibiza and a Toyota RAV4, and this time damaged by a driver in his 20s in a BMW that struck the bridge near Middlewich causing more damage.
Faced with stoppages
Boaters will be faced with stoppages whilst the bridge is being repaired, owing to the required scaffolding stopping navigation.
The new full closure will be in place 24 hours a day on the road that the bridge carries.
There is no intimation when the repairs, that are quite intensive, will be completed, as not known.
