COMPLAINTS FROM BOATERS who took notice from the trust that the Wigan Flight would be open last Friday.
But it was not opened, a boater told us, but no notice from the trust telling that is was not, he telling:
Following winter work the flight should have opened on Friday 13th at 4pm. Pointless really as it's closed then anyway. So in actual fact, this morning would be more accurate.
However, the winter work is not finished. The lord alone only knows why. But there you are.
The flight therefore remains closed. The perplexing thing about this, is why CRT didn't bother updating their customers? They must have known well before now that it wasn't going to open on time! We don't expect them to be as competent in running things on time like the legendary German railways, but come on...

Just imagine how you'd feel if you'd made arrangements with family etc. to help you up or down the flight this weekend, Mothering Sunday too, only to find that CRT couldn't be bothered to tell you the flight wasn't open after all?
