THERE HAS BEEN ANOTHER pollution incident stopping navigation.
This time it is on the Wyrley & Essington Canal, Keith Gudgin reports.
The navigation has had to be closed from Pratts Mill Bridge to Hildicks Bridge due to oil in the waterway.
Booms across the canal
It seems to be serious, as booms are being strung across the canal at various points and bridge holes to lessen the spread of the oil.
The local trust's team are working to find a solution and the Environmental Agency have been notified.
Pollution seems a worry this year with Stourbridge, Daws End, Chesterfield and Kennet & Avon canals all suffering.
