Another cill fails

CILLS are failing regularly, with a cill 'blown' on the Rochdale Canal.

At least this is what is suspected at Lock 77 on the Rochdale, Keith Gudgin reports.

Inspection today

This occurred yesterday, Tuesday, and there is to be an inspection today at the lock at Miles Platting with the navigation closed.

Should contractors be involved and it is a 'blown' cill, the last one on the Leeds & Liverpool at Wigan in June took three weeks to repair...
