SkiptTripsIts waterway being well featured, Janet Friend reports.

Canal

Together with its canal, castle, waterfall, woodland walks and unique shops it came head of the list of towns.

It is the place that many people visit with day trips as well as individuals with its rather olde worlde atmosphere due to its unique shops, historical architecture, cafés, cobbled streets and breathtaking surroundings.

It is told that Skipton boasts a canal, complete with canal boats which tourists can board to enjoy scenic routes along the waterway.

It also boasts Skipton Castle, one of the best preserved medieval castles in northern England.

Stroll along the Arm

Just a brief stroll along the Arm from the Leeds & Liverpool Canal passing the moored boats and the waterfall that forms the weir leads into the scenic Skipton Woods along a trail.

Regrettably, for some reason, there's only a four-hour maximum stay in the car parks and only two in some car parks that limits the stay.
