THE fifth Leeds Waterfront Festival, will be focussed this year as a family event that will be held at Thwaite Mills Watermill and Museum in the city.

The free event will include boat rides from the Safe Anchor Trust, children's activities, a bouncy castle and face painting in addition to free entry to the working watermill and museum.

Boat Gathering

This year the Inland Waterways Association is running a Boat Gathering at the event, with boats being able to arrive on Friday 29th June and stay until Tuesday 3rd July for a small fee. There will be entertainment during the evenings including a barbecue on Friday and a Saturday quiz.

A feature for festival goers on Saturday 30th June is ‘Time Runs Out'—a giant art installation created by artists, some with learning disabilities, from Pyramid of Arts.

Events

Events also include live folk music and bell ringers at the site on Saturday, and across the weekend visitors will be able to see and explore heritage boats, an enormous freight paper barge and mixed market stalls around the site.

Free parking is available from 11.00am until 5.30pm and the site is linked by a free vintage bus to further festival events at Clarence Dock, Brewery Wharf and Granary Wharf in Leeds city centre.
