Regents cyclists in trouble again

CAMPAIGNERS are on the warpath against speeding cyclists on the Regents Canal towpath again—this time for killing wildlife.

The towpath of the waterway is particularly dangerous, with many campaigns being mounted, particularly by mothers fearful of their children being hurt or knocked into the canal by the speeding cyclists, but this time it is wildlife they are killing.

Greater protection

Campaigners have called for greater protection for wildlife after goslings have been run over and killed.

It was Sonja Curtis who noticed that a family of goslings were getting less, then found one lying dead on the  verge by the water, with a fisherman telling her he had seen a cyclist run over the gosling just moments earlier.
