A BOATER was found unconscious in Bristol and rushed to hospital, where he later died.

Dave Westby, 36, who lived with his partner on a narrowboat at Phoenix Boatyard on the Avon was found in Cathedral Walk, with police and paramedics being called, and was taken to the Bristol Royal Infirmary, where he died, Alan Tilbury tells us.

A fall

Local staff found him lying unconscious on the ground after apparently suffering a fall.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset police said the death was not being treated as suspicious and the case had been referred to the coroner.
