Another stoppage on the Huddersfield Narrow

THE Huddersfield Narrow is closed yet again for the fifth time since the beginning of July.

This time we are told it is Spring Gardens Lock (10)E whose tail bridge has been further damaged, Keith Gudgin reports.

Unsafe to use

The tail bridge is now unsafe to use to access the offside of the lock, so it must not be used and the lock is inoperable until it has been repaired.  It was reported damaged previously.

During July it was a cill that was damaged and repaired on Lock 25W with the the necessary parts obtained, we were told. It seems 'damage' appears often on the 'Narrow'.
