Rochdale closed again

THE Rochdale Canal was closed again yesterday, the fourth time in just over a month.

This time it is 'emergency repairs to a bywash', Keith Gudgin reports.

At Ancoats

This has closed the navigation from Butler Street Lock (81) to Brownsfield Lock (83) at Ancoats, next to the junction with the Ashton Canal.

Contractors are onsite and it is expected that works will take up to four days.

The Rochdale was previously closed on the 6th and 21st of July and the 4th of August.

LATEST—Wok completed and waterway reopened today, Friday.
