Opening no good for Mercia boater

IT WAS our Victor who told of a fellow moorer at Mercia Marina who set off to do the Leicester Ring, clockwise.

He risking that the closed Radcliffe Lock on the Soar would have been repaired and open by the time he arrived.

But alas it was not and in fact only repaired and open today, Friday, with our being told a further stoppage, to replace the lock gates and undertake some repairs, is planned for this autumn.

Think again

So anyone else considering doing the Leicester Ring later this year would do well to think again.

As to our Mercia moorer who planned to do the Leicester Ring, he took to the Trent instead his email telling, but his colleague is not at all happy now they are on the tidal!—Editor.
