Saltersford Lock reopens

IT DID not take quite the five weeks as estimated to reopen Saltersford Lock.

This Weaver lock was put out of action by the failure of a damaged collar, it requiring divers to lift the gate, it stabilised and a new collar produced.

Under five weeks

It all taking just under the time-frame of five weeks that was estimated.

Work is now complete, the various safety features being removed and the navigation reopened this morning.
