Man held a second illegal boat party

A MAN has been arrested and others fined after an illegal boat party on the Lee & Stort Navigation.

This is the second time this year that an illegal party against the lockdown regulation on the Lee & Stort has been raided by the police, Alan Tilbury reports.

St Valentine's Day party

Again the party was on the river in East London with the police raiding a boat with 27 people on board, having a St. Valentine's Day party in the early hours of yesterday morning.

But they paid dearly for the experience, with the organiser arrested and liable for an hefty fine and the 26 revellers reported for £800 fines each.

Same organizer

Amazingly the organiser was the same one who was caught at the New Year boat party and received a £10,000 fine, so now he can be both further fined and sentenced to prison.

Not only were the fines issued and the people dispersed but the boat has now been seized, with Chief Inspector Pete Shaw remarking:

"To have an individual who has repeatedly ignored these regulations and who appears to have organised multiple events is dangerous and indicates a complete disregard for the safety of all involved."
