The last of the freeze?

WITH westerly wind taking over it's most likely the last of the freezing canals and rivers.

1z chilly oxfordBasically the whole of the system, has been under ice and snow over the past weeks with even the Thames frozen at Teddington Lock.

Iced over

Most of the canals were iced over, with boats stuck along the towpaths, and those risking movement for essential services being rewarded with a lot less blacking as the ice scrapes it off.

But the 'Beast from the East', as it was named, has passed as our normal westerly wind take over.

Oxford froze

The photograph shows the Oxford frozen over last week, whilst the one below shows the actual Thames frozen over at Teddington Lock and the seagulls walking on the ice.
