'Leaking' culvert could be long stoppage

THE leaking culvert on the Trent & Mersey Canal at Northwich could result in a long stoppage.

The culvert between bridges 184 and 185 needs dams isolating the area and the fish rescued, Keith Gudgin reports.

Allow inspection

Then pumps will be installed to clear the water from around the culvert to allow inspection.

After this an on-site  meeting with contractors will take place to establish the works needed for repairs.

The repairs affect both the waterway and towpath that was damaged, both now being closed.
