A COMPETITION of a boat repair workshop is part of a London development plan with the winner now announced.

As part of the planning proposals The Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) ran a competition to design a £600,000 boat repair workshop at Harlesden, and now has announced that this has been won by London based architects 'We Made That', Roger Fox writes.

Transform underused part of London

The Old Oak Common and Park Royal Development Corporation has been set up by the Mayor of London with government support to transform this underused part of London into a thriving new district.

Up to 24,000 new homes and 55,000 jobs at Old Oak are planned, linked to plans to build a ‘super hub’ HS2 and Crossrail station by 2026 and to further intensify Park Royal with an additional 10,000 jobs and 1,500 homes.

The Paddington Arm of the Grand Union borders the south side of the Old Oak Common and Park Royal area which maintains many reminders of the canalside industries that once thrived.
