How stupid is that?

WITH the Thames listed as unsafe for navigation, a pair took a wooden cruiser on the river and finished up on Teddington Weir after it lost power.

This meant that two lifeboats, four fire engines, an ambulance and police went to the incident, as the boat was in a dangerous position.

A woman and a man were on board with a six months old baby,  with the woman and baby being  rescued.

Refused to leave

A lifeboat crew took the woman and the baby to Teddington Lock House, but against advice the man refused to be evacuated, but stayed on the boat!

It was eventually towed off the weir to the lock moorings by  an Environment Agency tug.

The pair had ignored the warning, with Malcolm Miatt, Teddington Lifeboat Operations Manager, telling they were 'very lucky'.
