THERE are plenty of hardy boaters at Bugsworth Basin on the Peak Forest Canal for a New Year rally.
Andrew Smithers, who took the picture at Harecastle, tells us he saw the very unusual sight of 16 boats waiting for the 08.30 start at the South end of Harecastle Tunnel, that went through in two batches of eight.
The traditional boats were heading for a rally at Bugsworth, joined of course by others from different directions.
