There is no evidence that navigation warnings are not being updated, certainly not on the South Oxford, writes Kevin McNiff.
Although unlike the rainfall in the north, we have received two warnings for navigation closure; at Aynho where the Cherwell crosses the canal just outside the diamond lock. This also affects headroom under Nell Bridge.
Locks closed
Additionally, the Cherwell between Bakers Lock and Shipton Diamond Lock is also closed at this time. Both closures are due to high flow conditions on the river.
I'm sure we all feel for the communities under water and hope for an end to the storms and rain, though the medium range forecasts are not promising
