Olympic trip rip-off

EVEN the local MP has complained about the high fares on the trip boat taking passengers between Limehouse to the Olympic Park during the games.

The Poplar and Limehouse MP Jim Fitzpatrick backed the residents who were being charged a colossal £95 and £50 each for children for a trip on the boats to the Olympics, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Very disappointing

The MP told that it was 'very disappointing that most residents will not be able to enjoy a trip on the boats operating between Limehouse Marina or Tottenham Hale and a fast-track entrance to the Olympic Park in Stratford.

This is the results of Water Chariots, operating the boats to games announcing its excessive fares for a return ticket.

30 times more

Jim pointed out that the price is 30 times that of a normal DLR tickets, and it would cost a family of four a colossal £290, remarking:

"We thought we would get something that would add to transport options for local people. Something a bit special, which people would be prepared to pay a bit extra for, but not £95."

Running nearly empty

The company is operating a total of 15 boats, but many think that at these prices they will be running nearly empty.

A spokesman for British Waterways pointed out that it had no influence on pricing, but that Water Chariots were chosen as they presented a sound business plan.
