Broads bucks the trend

WHILST both British Waterways and the Environment Agency have had a fall in the number of licenced boats over the past year, the Broads Authority has increased its number of licenced boats.

It has increased the number by 151 over the year, including more narrowboats.

Lowest increase

It has also managed to keep the cost of licences down to just 2.8%, the lowest increase we are told for 17 years, realising the pressure on its customers by ever increasing other costs.

The extra money is not only from the extra licences, but from the increase in revenue from hire companies, that have had a very good year.
