Another boat company goes

BOATERS are likely to have difficulty in either getting boats built or getting repairs in the future as more and more boat service companies go out of business.

The latest is Shobnall Boat Services on the Trent & Mersey at Burton on Trent that has fallen victim to the recession, and has stopped trading, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Saved by Mercia

We understand that no one has been left in the lurch, and one boat that was nearing completion was saved by Mercia Marina allowing use of its dry dock to finish the job.

Of the collapse of the company, Janette of Jannel Cruisers, stated:

"I am sorry that things did not work out here for Shobnall Boat Services, as we feel that Jannel Cruisers did our very best to help as much as we could by lowering his rent by nearly half for a year.

"We are unaffected by this and we will endeavour to get all services up and running as soon as we possibly can. I do not want people to misunderstand and the picture [now removed] does appear at first glance as though it may be ourselves that has ceased trading and that is certainly not the case.

The boat mooring at Shobnall Basin are not affected by the closure of the boat services.
