Two navigations reopen

MILBY Lock on the Ure Navigation and the Sydenham Lift Bridge on the Oxford have been attended to.

This means that both navigations are now open, Keith Gudgin reports.

Seals caused problems

Milby Lock (3) had problems with the seals on its lock gates that caused problems, but have now been fixed with the stop planks removed and the navigation open.

It was the Sydenham Lift Bridge 183 on the Oxford Canal that became stuck and so could not be moved to allow passage for boats.

We are told the team has successfully moved the lift bridge a safe distance away from its operational position, though not sure what this means.  However the navigation is now open.
