Concrete tied to drowned dog

A DOG has been found in the River Great Ouse with concrete blocks tied to its feet.

It's front legs had been tied together with rope attached to a concrete block, with its back legs also bound together and attached to another block, and obviously dumped into the river, but before this had been stabbed, Alan Tilbury reveals.

Being a very heavy dog, of the Dogue De Bordeuxit breed, it is not known whether is was pushed off a boat or thrown into the river by a very strong person or more than one. The animal eventually came to the surface and was discovered by an angler.

Gruesome discovery

Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Inspector Chris Nice pronounced:

"This was a really gruesome discovery. We don't yet know if the dog died before he was put into the water but either way he suffered a horrible, violent death and we desperately need to know who is behind this.

"He was a huge dog, even by breed standards, weighing almost 30kgs more than the minimum weight for this type of dog, allowing for decomposition, so he could not have been carried to the river."

The dog was micro chipped giving the details that its name was two years old and its name Angus.
