Drowned dog update

THE microchip in the dog that was dumped in the River Great Ouse near Chawston with concrete tied to its feet has revealed its history.

The pedigree Dogue De Bordeux was cared for at a kennels in North Yorkshire owned by Helen and Alan Jessop, who look after a number of the breed, Alan Tilbury reveals.

Helen has expressed her shock and disgust at the death, and told that she sold Angus to a man from Milton Keynes for £500 because she thought he was going to a good home, remarking:

"I would like to think that it wasn't the man we sold Angus to who did this, but we just don't know at the moment. That man came to my home and looked me in the eye and said he would look after Angus. Owners of the breed are a very close knit community and it is such a shock. Angus was a lovely dog, a real giant softie and was very close to my husband."
