A BOATER who fell off a narrowboat into the River Great Ouse near St Neots, lost his foot as it became caught in the boat's revolving propeller.

The 65 years old man had been with friends on the boat when he fell off the stern of the boat, with the propeller amputating his foot, Alan Tilbury tells us.

It was the Emergency Medical Charity, that was able to provide the man with the same care at the scene that he would have received in the hospital emergency department, saving him losing more blood and relieving his pain.
