Nene water taxi idea

STILL another idea for a water taxi, this time on the Nene at Peterborough to Flag Fen.

The proposals are being put forward by Peterborough's culture trust Vivacity, that wants a 'more attractive' route to the popular Bronze Age site along the river as a summer attraction, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Normal bus service

However at a Peterborough City Council meeting, Councillor Marion Todd wanted Vivacity to look into the possibility of a normal bus service to transport visitors to the historical site, especially as the water buses would only run in the warm summer months.

It was told at the meeting that the draft business plan would be amended to include a travel plan for Flag Fen when the trust takes over the management of the site this year to develop it as a heritage attraction.
