THE Rochdale Canal closure at Lock 87 has been lifted and the waterway is open.
The cause of the closure was a detached cill closing the waterway on the 13th of August, Keith Gudgin reports.
This has been repaired by contractors.
Just under three weeks
This means that has taken just under three weeks to repair. That is getting longer as it is usually completed in two weeks.
However the 'Rochdale Nine' through Manchester, a few miles away is still closed.
