A FELLOW boater has told me about yourselves, writes John Graham.

So feel I must use you to vent my spleen, caused by being totally stuck in Castlefield by the closure of the Rochdale Nine that I have just read in your journal that was totally unnecessarily.

Not needed after all

For I read that all the wait was that a crane was required that needing a public road closing with all the boats being stopped then reading that Canal & River Trust (and that last word 'Trust' is a right misnomer) did not need a crane after all.

I am not the only one stuck, for having walked up the locks I found others and amongst them hire boaters who just had to leave their boats with the hire companies left to get them back and others have gone home as no date was ever given when the Nine would be re-opened.  And we still don't know.

What a way to run a waterway, they just don't care.
