Huddersfield Narrow closed through lack of water!

UNBELIEVABLE as it may seem, the Huddersfield Narrow is closed through lack of water.

Reporting it, Keith Gudgin remarked—after all the rain we've had over the last month how come the HNC has still not got enough water to allow it to work. Seems to me there's something fundamentally wrong here.

With less than a dozen boats allowed to navigate the 'Narrow' during a week the lack of water cannot be over usage, so is obviously extreme leakage.

However, Marsden Flight is closed until it can be inspected.

Good news

The good news is that though one flight on the Huddersfield Narrow is closed another, Dingle Flight, is open.

The cill has been replaced on Lock 25W, though it took from the 3rd July to the 7th of August to complete—a month.
