Breach closes South Stratford Canal

THE South Stratford Canal is closed by a 'potential' breach.

This was discovered yesterday, Sunday, Keith Gudgin reports.

'Structure failure'

The breach is at Lock 43, north of Stratford, and is described as a 'structure failure', but nothing further will be learnt until it is inspected on Wednesday.

The navigation of course is now closed.
