Kilby Lock should re-open tomorrow

KILBY Lock on the Leicester Section will soon be repaired we are told with new cills fitted today, Wednesday.

The lock was closed back on the 17th July 'due to damage', Keith Gudgin reports.

Providing all goes well and the the concrete sets, it is hoped to be able to re-water and re-open the lock on Thursday afternoon.

This was the lock that it was discovered had no cills, so was badly leaking.

It was—obviously mistakenly—reported that the stoppage was 'due to damage', but of course was not.
