Peak Forest Lift Bridge fails for fourth time

THERE can be little doubt that the many repairs to Wood End Lift Bridge are bodged.

This Peak Forest lift bridge has failed four times in the last two months, Keith Gudgin reports.

It has now failed again; this time we are being told it is owing to a failed bearing. And over the two months there have been various reasons/excuses given such as vandals and electrical.

Engineers and contractors

This time an on-site meeting with specialist engineers and contractors is being arranged, then hopefully it will be repaired to last.

It was vandals blamed for one of the failures of Wood End Lift Bridge on the Peak Forest yet it was the structure that failed that needed a crane, and no way could vandals even reach it, the excuse obviously being made-up.
