'Narrow' closed again

THE navigation on the Huddersfield Narrow is closed again.

This time it is at Westwood Lock 16E at Wellhouse that has its paddles out of order, Keith Gudgin reports.

They will not make it

So if any of the six boats that are allowed a week through Standedge Tunnel are hoping to navigate the canal at present they will not make it.

Canal & River Trust inform that it will not be until Monday that any further information will be forthcoming.

The stoppage is rated as a 'structure failure'.
