Two more 'winter works' cancelled

THAT original list of so many 'winter works' published by Canal & River Trust is looking rather optimistic as another two get cancelled.

The Rochdale Canal is 'Navigation: Closed' at Sowerby Bridge as a wall repair, that was part of the winter works, has been cancelled, Keith Gudgin reports.

Once  again we are told that this is a knock-on effect with delays within the winter works programme.

A further 'repair' also 'due to knock-on from other delays within the winter works programme and unforeseen challenges with resource', explains the trust, but will be rescheduled and will advise when these works are due to take place.

This repair is to Bridge 24 near Warwickshire Fly Boats, but no intimation of the repair required.
