Pilling Flood Lock repaired

PILLINGS Flood Lock (52) on the Leicester Section of the Grand Union Canal has been repaired,

The lock is now operational, as divers have repaired the underwater problem that it was told was caused by vandals, Keith Gudgin reports.

A large hole

The original notice stated 'vandalism that has left one of the lock gates missing boards leaving a large hole'.

But it was not stated how vandals managed underwater damage, and no futher explanation was given after it was repaired.

The stoppage notice is stating 'Navigation: Closed', so it is assumed the Soar is in flood and the gates closed.
