Quick work on the Trent

IT WAS yesterday, Thursday, morning that it was announced Hazelford Lock (12) on the Trent was closed.

This was due to the normal electrical fault, but by the afternoon it had been attended to and the lock once again open for navigation, Keith Gudgin reports.

Local team

This means the lock is operating as normal, but obviously it was the local team that made the repair and not contractors that would have taken days!

Over the past months there have been a number of closures on the Trent due to 'electrical fault' and being so common, perhaps now is the time to replace whatever it is that is causing such faults, to then give boaters a better chance of not being held up.
