Ireland suffering water problems too

UK WATERWAYS are not the only ones to be suffering from water problems, writes Roger Fox.

Ireland is having its challenges as well on the Shannon navigation. "If it's not a feast it's a famine," were the words used this week by an official of Waterways Ireland to describe the latest difficulties with river water levels on the Shannon.

Warning to boat users

The waterways authorities have issued a warning to boat users and cruiser traffic after falling levels led to a number of accidents on the Northern sections of the river over the last two weeks.

Damage to some boats already estimated at running into tens of thousands of pounds. Ireland suffering water problems too.
